Oxford firefighters responded to the scene of a structure fire that occurred April 22 in the 70 block of Dunlap Circle.
Around 2:06 p.m., the fire department received an emergency call that an outside wall of a residence in the Lake Villa Manufacutured Home Communuty on Lakeville Road had caught fire.
It was initially determined that the cause of the fire was electrical and narrowed down to one outlet in the living room of the trailer, according to Oxford Fire Chief Pete Scholz.
The homeowner was treated for smoke inhalation and cleared at the scene.
According to Scholz, the trailer is a total loss and the amount of damage is around $40,000 for contents and $15,000 for structure.
A final determination as to the fire’s cause will not be made until the investigation is completed by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department.
