Fight breaks out at Orion Twp. restaurant, patrons help quell the ruckus

Two men from the City of Flint started a fight at an Orion Township restaurant/bar after being told they were no longer welcome at the establishment.

Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies went to Johnny Black’s Public House, 3575 S. Baldwin Rd., for a fight in progress between customers and an employee of the bar around 7:06 p.m. April 7, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.

The owner told deputies that he asked the two suspects to leave the establishment after a disturbance on the patio.

Both suspects left but returned approximately 15 minutes later and tried to get back into the bar.

The owner stopped the men at the door and denied them entry.

That’s when the 25-year-old Flint man allegedly started punching the owner in the face, authorities said.

The second man, a 24-year-old Flint resident, also started punching the owner, the report stated.

After watching the frackas develop, a couple of customers jumped in and helped the owner until deputies arrived.

Deputies contacted Orion Township firefighter/EMTs to help one of the suspects, who was bleeding from the nose.

EMTs transported one of the suspects to the hospital for his injuries. The other was released to his parents, authorities said.

Deputies issued both suspects tickets for assault and battery and both were given a trespass warning not to return, according to the OCSO report. — J.N.
