A 26-year-old Clarkston man faces potential prosecution for felonious assault after he allegedly beat his roommate with a board laced with screws.
According to Oakland County Sheriff reports, deputies were dispatched to the Lancaster apartments on Dec. 28. Outside the building they found the suspect, who was bleeding from the mouth and had several scratches and cuts on other parts of his body.
Inside the apartment, deputies found a trail of blood leading to a room where the 26-year-old roommate was still on the phone with a 9-1-1 dispatcher. He had a ‘large amount? of blood coming from his mouth and wounds on his hands, arms and stomach, reports said.
The men apparently got into a fight after the suspect brought friends home and the victim wanted one of the friends to leave. The suspect allegedly ‘flipped out? and caused damage to the apartment before attacking the roommate.
The piece of wood allegedly used in the fight was from an entertainment center, reports said, and had exposed screws in it.
Both parties in the fight refused medical treatment from the Independence Township Fire Department, but after arresting the suspect deputies ordered him taken to the North Oakland Medical Center before transportation to the Oakland County Jail. At the medical center, the suspect continued to be verbally abusive and again refused treatment, reports said.
Information on formal charges was not immediately available.
