FAME Photo Contest

Goodrich-If a picture is worth 1,000 words, then the second annual FAME Photo Contest was worth 65,000.
Thirty nine amateur photographers entered 65 photographs in the competition that took place on Feb. 9 at Goodrich High School, 8029 Gale Road.
Box office manager Caren Huizenga said about 200 people viewed the photographs, and community response to the event was such that she anticipates doing another contest next year.
The winners of the children’s competition for individuals 13 and younger are as follows: 35 mm black and white photo, Matthew Brandon with ‘The Closer You are to the Light?; 35 mm color, Chelsea McCullough with ‘Snow Prowler? and digital non-manipulated, Rebekah Samuelson with ‘Alpaca Smile?.
In the adult age group, winners in the 35 mm segment are the following: Color landscape, Amanda Latosynski with ‘Hadley Street Pond?; Black and white people, Nancy Bloom with ‘My Daughter?; Black and white landscape, Ashlee Rubin with ‘Port Huron?; Color miscellaneous, Nancy Bloom with ‘Algonac Festival? and black and white miscellaneous, Daren Irons, with ?1937 Chevy Coupe.?
Adult winners in the digital category are as follows: Digitally manipulated, Carol Samuelson with ‘Village Print Shop?; Digital miscellaneous, Diane Aurand with ‘Untitled?; Digital plants, Michelle Osterhout with ‘Frozen Crab Apple?; Digital animals, Kelly Todd with ‘Untitled?; Digital people, Gail Boomer with ‘A Glimpse of Innocence?; Digital structures, Angie Viera with ‘Hall at the Capitol Building? and Digital Landscapes, Josh Todd with ‘Untitled?.
Winners each received two tickets to the FAME’s next show, ‘The Birdhouse Factory Show? at 7:30 on March 2 at the Raymond C. Green Center for the Performing Arts in Goodrich High School, 8029 Gale Road.
