FAME expands fine arts in Goodrich, and beyond

Goodrich – A group of Goodrich parents has been actively planning fine arts opportunities and cultural experiences for students and the community.
Fine Arts: A Mainstream in Education (FAME) is a fine arts advocacy group working with the Goodrich school district to plan educational art and music events from around the globe, encouraging community patronage in sponsoring the program.
This year’s line-up includes events running September 2005 through March 2006. Since FAME founders believe the arts contribute to a successful life’regardless of one’s profession’tickets will be available to Goodrich residents, as well as to those in the surrounding communities.
‘We’re making sure education is the primary focus, as opposed to just performing arts for the sake of entertainment,? says FAME co-chair Donna Haiderer.
In addition to offering a series of family-friendly events and showcasing local talent, future FAME goals include hosting events such as a combined Michigan State University-University of Michigan men’s glee club concert, developing a student private study fund, offering a community-based production, and developing scholarship opportunities.
Suggested levels of giving range from $100 to $2,500, and include patronage incentives ranging from listings in programs to party invitations and complimentary tickets.
Tax-deductible contributions may be mailed to Goodrich Area Schools, attention: FAME, 8029 S. Gale Road, Goodrich, Mich., 48439. Donations designated as an honorary or memorial gift should include the name to be listed in the program.
