‘Exclamation!? to perform at Commons

Goodrich- Residents will soon have a chance to move to the beat of a different drummer.
At 7 p.m. on July 22, FAME (Fine Arts: a Mainstream in Education) will present the percussion group, ‘Exclamation!?.
The event is scheduled to take place in the Goodrich Commons Area, located near the intersection of M-15 and Hegel Road.
Donna Heiderer, Co-Director of the FAME program, said the group is coming to the area from the Flint Institute of Music and play a variety of percussion instruments.
‘The music will be very light, very toe tapping? perfect for summer,? said Heiderer. ‘All along we’ve been making sure that we can make these things assessable.?
Past performances hosted by FAME in it’s inaugural year include Michael Lee and the OPUS Mime Theatre in September, The Carolyn Mawby Chorale with Kevin Cole in December, the Hubbard Street 2 Dance company in January and Chris Collins Jazz from the Shamrock Shore Band in April.
Heiderer said FAME tries to bring cultural experiences to the community in an atmosphere that is relaxed and not intimidating.
The performance will be free to the public.
