Et cetera, etc & etc

Few things rile me more, and more often, than the ‘pork barreling? that goes on in Washington.
Senators ask for and get bridges and roads to nowhere, airfields where there are no need for planes, subsidies for everything grown, etc.
Whatever lobbyist wants, lobbyist gets. It’s a lot like Lola. You know! ‘Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets.?
Maybe it’s sleeping with (there’s a lot of that going on) that gets it, but more often, I think, it’s votes and money.
Lobbyists have been having field days for as long as anyone can remember when taxes are brought up. And, in Washington they have all 544 lawmakers listening intently for breaks and add-ons.
How else could our tax code reach 67,000 pages?
That’s SIXTY-SEVEN THOUSAND!
There’s got to be a loophole for even the middle class, whoever the candidates think that is. It’s absolutely ridiculous, but then so are all our representatives who allow such rulings. I gotta get off this.

Ever hear of ‘Little Husky Day Care?? Well, it’s at Michigan Tech in Houghton, and it has given me a ‘You might be a YUPPER if,? item. Chris and Jennifer Davidson enrolled their 3-month-old in it in early spring.
Chris asked, ‘What do I bring for Keegan??
‘Make sure he has a snowsuit and mittens. We want him to be warm when we take him out for recess.?
Recess for a 90-day-old! It should be very warming to Greg and Teresa Davidson in Oxford to know their grandson is being taught recess early.

Met up with Jerry Griffin recently. I’ve known him for many years. He’s past president of Lions, heads Oxford’s historical museum and more. He asked, ‘How you doing??
I mentioned my bone break, need of a root canal, colonoscopy, etc. ‘How are you, Jerry??
He said, quietly, ‘Since I had that heart attack between my chemo sessions, I’ve been good.?
I have nothing!

Middle child, Daughter Luan, was with her daughter, Karen as they toured the Detroit Institute of Arts. They’d been there quite a while when Luan expressed her need, and not seeing any boy-girl images on doors.
She asked Karen if she’d seen any restrooms. Karen said, ‘I thought that was where it said, ‘Life’s Pleasures.?
Everyone’s a comedienne.

Wednesday, April 9
Dear Middle Child,
I tried to rationalize that you were trying to help when you took my clothes from the drier, but frankly, it wasn’t a help, but a hinderance.
Most troubling was the hanging of my shirts.
My shirts are not to be hung on wire.
They are to be gently displayed on wooden hangers. And, they are all to be hung as follows:
? Hold the shirts in front of you with the shirt front away. The hanger is then to be held with the hook to your left, and the wooden hanger to be inserted into the right arm first.
? Then the shirt is to be hung from a rod brace with the front toward you.
? Spray the shirt with Downy Wrinkle Releaser and stretch it downward.
? Then hang the shirt on a door knob until I can place it in line in my closet.
Also, my stretch socks are not to be paired and pulled inside out like anklet-type. They are to be paired and folded twice. It saves time when they are chosen for wear.
Your folding of my boxer shorts was just fine.
Sincerely, Dad
