It’s that time of year, time for Lake Orion’s Environmental Resources Committee’s annual Green Up logo contest.

The contest, which is sponsored by Waste Management, asks residents to submit their black-and-white design celebrating Orion’s beautiful natural resources and green pride and help raise awareness of the ecological crisis, reduce plastic waste going into landfills, protect wildlife and preserve nature for future generations.

The winning design will receive a $50 prize and have their design featured on reusable bags that are expected to be available for purchase through the Orion Twp. Public Library.

Designs must be sent to environment@oriontownship.org along with your name and contact information by March 15. Designs can also be sent through the mail to or by mail to OTERC Logo Design Contest, c/o Trustee Mike Flood, 2525 Joslyn Road, Lake Orion, MI 48360. Entries are welcome from artists of all ages.
