Donnay leads BHS cagers in fourth quarter comeback

The Brandon girls basketball squad survived a tough contest against visiting Lapeer East and remain in the thick of the Flint Metro League race.
Meg Donnay scored 11 points as the Blackhawks outscored the Eagles 13-7 in the fourth quarter to pull out a 40-37 win in their Oct. 21 contest. The win improved the Blackhawks? record to 5-9 overall and 5-2 in the league, while Lapeer East fell to 4-9 and 3-4.
The Eagles had taken a 30-27 lead into the fourth quarter before the Blackhawks made their comeback.
Lauhnna Waybrant added seven points for the Blackhawks, while Savannah Stedman added six. Shurene Dunbar led the Eagles with 14 points.
Brandon returns to action Oct. 28 when they host Fenton in a 7 p.m. contest.
