Crash leaves Oxford teen with multiple injuries

The M-24 evening commute on Oct. 16 took longer than usual for northbound drivers near the very top of Oakland County as a nasty auto accident slowed down traffic for a few hours.
The accident involving 20-year-old Julie Marie Kesselring, of Oxford, and 46-year-old Kimberly Michelle Hutchison, of Metamora, took place at M-24 and West Davison Lake Road. Both women were transported to area hospitals following the accident, which occurred sometime around 4:15 p.m.
According to the police report, the car driven by Kesselring ? who was pulling onto north-bound M-24 from Davison Lake Road ? was broadsided after she failed to yield to Hutchison’s truck.
Kesselring was transported by helicopter to Genesys Hospital with multiple injuries while Hutchison was transported to Lapeer Regional Medical Center. There, she was treated and released.
According to Metamora Police Department Corporal Frank Panetta, Kesselring was transferred from Genesys to Beaumont Hospital and was last listed in stable condition.
The MTPD responded to the accident and was assisted by agencies in Lapeer and Oakland Counties.
The accident remains under investigation.
