Police are looking for the driver responsible for a hit-and-run that occurred on the morning of March 31 in Oxford Township.
The incident took place at 7:39 a.m. near the corner of West Drahner and Pathfinder.
According to Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputy David Ross, a bicyclist was riding on the eastbound shoulder of Drahner when the vehicle struck him.
Ross described the vehicle as a 2007 or 2008 Dodge Caliber. Witnesses were unable to get the vehicle’s color or a physical description of the person driving. However, the deputy did say the vehicle sustained damage to the right front fender. The incident also tore off the passenger’s side mirror.
‘We assume the low morning sun played a factor in the incident,? Ross said. ‘The driver never slowed down or stopped. It’s disturbing that the driver never bothered to check on the person they’d just hit.?
Another motorist checked on the bicyclist, described as a 40-year-old Oxford man. He received nasty bruises, but his injuries were not life-threatening.
