Commission eyes village replacements

Flint – By March 2, Genesee County Clerk Michael Carr had received seven letters of application to fill Goodrich Village Council vacancies.
To replace council seats left vacant when the village council was recalled last week, the Genesee County Elections Commission will appoint three interim council members.
Interim councilpersons will serve until long-term council members are decided in the May 3 election.
Applicants include Goodrich residents Steve Brooks, John K. Spaulding, Daniel Keller, Margaret Ford, Christopher May, Nathan (Doug) McAbee, and Bob Chlebnik.
The county elections commission is slated to meet March 9, said elections director Rob Coffman.
Although no formal agenda has been set, the commission will likely review applications, possibly making appointments within a week of the meeting, Coffman said.
Other mailed applications received by the elections commission prior to the March 9 meeting may still be considered, said Coffman.
Mail letters of application to Michael J. Carr, 900 S. Saginaw St., Flint, Mich., 48502.
