The holidays are just around the corner-and bells will be ringing in Detroit at the Music Hall Center for Performing Arts where 11-year-old Cameron Stefanski will participate in ‘A Christmas Carol.?
Stefanski, a Clarkston Middle School student, enjoys his time at school and with friends, but always comes back to his love for the stage. He started acting at the young age of eight. His first musical was ‘Joseph and the Technicolor Dream Coat.?
Stefanski automatically formed a passion and decided to go as far with acting as he could.
He enjoys the music, the sets and dancing, but mostly the people and the wonderful relationships he has formed.
With over five years of formal performance education and training, Stefanski is on the right track. He has trained in ballet, tap, jazz, gymnastics and acting. He has been a student at the Jr. Conservatory Acting Class at Deborah’s Stagedoor Since 1999. He also participated in The Music Hall Camp Broadway, where they studied theater, combat, singing, acting and dance.
The list of training is long, but so is Stefanski’s experience. His list of productions includes: ‘Christmas Extravaganza,? ‘The Lion that Lost His Roar,? ‘Babes in Toyland,? ‘Through the Looking Glass? and ‘Jesus Christ Superstar.?
His latest project is ‘A Christmas Carol.?
‘It’s a fun joyful holiday play to be in and I get to meet new people and build my resume,? said Stefanski.
With the excitement of plays, singing and dancing, Stefanski hopes to continue acting and turn it into a future career.
‘Cameron is very dedicated to his dreams,? said his mother Kari Jo. ‘He knows that his talents are a gift and God has blessed him with many things in life.?
‘A Christmas Carol? opens Dec 7-12. Evening shows are at 8 p.m. at The Music Hall Center for Performing Arts in Detroit. For more information, call 313-963-2366.
