Church youth group performs in concert

Sashabaw Presbyterian Ecumenical Youth Drama Club performed in concert at a family dance, March 6, with music from the 1950’s and 1960’s.
Various age groups performed songs ranging from “Puff the Magic Dragon” to “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow,” all in period costume.
The band McPeaklee Experience, drama club members Joe, Chris and Steve McNally of Clarkston, Rick Peake of Lake Orion, Esther Lee of Waterford, alumni Abigail Lee, and dad, Joe McNally Sr. on drums.
McPeaklee performed Buddy Holly’s “Every Day,” Jefferson Airplane’s “Somebody To Love” and other songs.
Every year, the Drama Club produces a Broadway musical including youth from many area churches. In the last several years, the group performed “Bye, Bye Birdie,” “Hello Dolly,” “My Fair Lady,” “Kiss Me Kate” and “Annie Get Your Gun.”
They are preparing this year’s show “Fiddler on the Roof,” for May 7-9. For more information about Sashabaw’s Drama Club or the upcoming show, call 248-310-0792 or check sashabawpresbyterian.org.
