After placing second at last week’s Flint Metro League (FML) Cheer Competition, the Oxford Varsity Competitive Cheer Team is ecstatic at their Third Place in the overall FML.
The girls captured a 181.5 in the first round, followed by a 178.9 in the second and 271 in the third.
The team captured first place in the first round, third in the second and placed second in the third.
‘Overall, this was a great showing for Oxford,? coach Alanna Stockley said. ‘We are getting stronger and the girls are working as one.?
First Team All League Honors went to Libby Ardelan, Ashley VanAtten and April Smith.
Second Team League All League Honors went to Stacy Smith and Rachel Pollack.
Aleashia Capogna received an Honorable Mention for All League Honors.
Last Saturday, the girls competed at Stoney Creek and received a trophy after placing fifth.
The team will compete at Houghton Lake on February 18 and continue to perfect their rounds for the March 3 regionals.
