Lake Orion United Methodist Church celebrates “March is Reading Month” with Storybook Tour 2019, a reading and reenactment of children’s stories.
Guests will tour several rooms at the church, with costumed-characters reading favorite children’s stories to guests, who are invited to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ wit and wisdom.
The event coincides with Dr. Seuss’ birthday, aka Theodor Seuss Geisel, an American children’s book author, political cartoonist and animator. Geisel was born March 2, 1904.
The Storybook Tour is from 1-3 p.m. March 23 at Lake Orion United Methodist Church, 140 E. Flint St. Cost is $10 per person and children must be supervised by their parent or guardian.
Proceeds will be donated to the Orion Area Youth Assistance Skill Building & Summer Camp Scholarship Fund.
The OAYA’s mission is to “strengthen youth and families and reduce the incidence of delinquency, neglect and abuse through community involvement.”
