Chamber has successful expo

The 17th Clarkston Community Expo was the ‘best expo ever,? according to Chamber Executive Director Penny Shanks.
‘I had several people who come every year tell me this one was the best,? Shanks said.
The expo showcased 117 exhibitors which was significantly higher than the 91 from last year. Shanks stated they lost count on how many attended after 2,000.
‘One of our sponsors, Slick and Bubba’s Elite & Expeditious Websites, handed out more than 1,400 shirts,? Shanks said.
Shanks attributed the climb in exhibitors as the mark of a healthy chamber.
‘We were very member focused this last year with Kurt Miller as president. It is really paying off,? Shanks said. ‘We also did some radio advertising which I think helped.?
The expo, held at Clarkston High School, was open to the public and admission is free. There were door prizes, a d.j., raffles and exhibits. In addition, the Oakland Technical Culinary Program provided food for the program.
