Chamber Expo 2007: bigger, better

The Greater Ortonville Area Chamber of Commerce will host its sixth annual Business Expo from 6 to 8 p.m., April 26, at the Brandon High School. The Expo offers a networking opportunity for the public to meet area business owners.
‘Last year more than 35 area businesses participated in the Expo which attracted more than 400 to the event,? said Susan Reddy, Greater Ortonville Area Chamber of Commerce president.
‘The public can meet businesses that they might not know are in the area or they might not be very familiar with,? said Reddy. ‘The benefit for businesses is exposure, networking with other businesses and with the public.?
Restaurants often have free samples available and other businesses may also offer free gifts or services. In addition, each business donates a free gift worth at least $25 for a raffle.
Proceeds from Expo will fund five-$500 scholarships for area Brandon High School students.
Chamber members can purchase a table for $125. For non- Chamber members, the cost is $200 per table. Or for $225 a business can join the chamber for one year in addition to a table.
‘This is the sixth Expo, and like others, this event will prove to be a win-win situation for the businesses and community,? said Chamber Trustee and Brandon Fire Chief Bob McArthur .
‘The response has been very positive and it’s impressive how well the businesses are showcased here at the Expo.?
Businesses should reserve a table by April 7 in order to receive early bird registration fees and guarantee an advertisement in the Business Expo booklet. Business set up on April 21 begins at 3 p.m.
