Oakview Middle School students celebrated ‘Pi Day? on March 14 (3.14) with week-long Pi events, including a pie raffle, and creating a Pi chain with 3,168 loops, which was hung in the school’s cafeteria. Pictured are some of the students who helped create the chain, from left: George Boychev, eighth-grade; Vincent Gonzales, eighth-grade; Molly Edwards, eighth-grade; Andrew Loscher, sixth-grade; and Cataryna Spokaeski, sixth-grade. Each class was given 500 numbers of Pi to put together to make the chain. The Pi events were part of the school’s second annual March Math Madness, which the Oakview PTO helps plan.
