The Wildcats came out on top at last Friday’s Winter Fest game, beating Fenton 48-34.
A great defensive performance limited the Tigers to only four points during the fourth quarter and only 15 during the entire second half.
Senior captain Zach Tilley led the Cats with 16 points for the night. Senior captain Chris Keenist had 11 and pulled down 13 rebounds. Senior captain Rick Brady drew charges, made steals and hit a clutch basket late in the fourth quarter to make Oxford’s lead insurmountable.
Sophomore Mike Bertling also had a strong game with seven points and Matt Patria played the best game of his career scoring 10 points and limiting Fenton’s all-league candidate to just two points.
Monday night, Oxford hosted Goodrich, who came into the game 13-1. The Wildcats played exceptionally wel in the first half, going into the break tied 20-20. The second hald ended with Goodrich winning 49-27.
Keenist led with eight points and junior Mike Stumph had a strong performance with six points.
Oxford is now 5-10 overall and 4-9 in the Flint Metro League. They travel to Lapeer East Friday for a 7:30 p.m. game.
