Laughter and fun for Lighthouse

With lots of food, drink, and laughter, Clarkston-area residents raised about $45,000 for Lighthouse North. Dr. Shivajee and Terri Nallamouthu of Independence Township opened their home for the annual Open Your Heart fundraiser Feb. 14. Detroit Pistons basketball star Lindsey Hunter also made a special appearance in support of the event.

GM began initial production of its highly anticipated Chevrolet Sonic at its Orion Assembly Plant on Monday. The plant had been closed for 18 months for updates and retooling to accommodate production of the subcompact vehicle. Orion Assembly also will produce the Buick Verano subcompact, has 1,750 workers, including 1,600 hourly employees.
