‘Can you hear me now?’

Whatever your cell phone needs may be, Scott Hakim manager of the Verizon retailer located at 9749 Dixie Highway says he and his crew can help.
‘I have a cellular and Verizon background for 10 years, so I know exactly what to do for all types of customers,? Hakim said. ‘If you’re having billing issues, equipment issues I can help you. My knowledge is pretty extent with Verizon.?
Previously Hakim worked for a multi-carrier company, which also sold Sprint and AT&T, but he decided to just start selling Verizon exclusively because ‘that’s the best company out there.?
‘Their equipment is top notch. Their services are the best as far as the quality of the phone call. Customer service is excellent and you don’t have to pay for your warranty,? he said.
‘If you buy a Sprint phone you have to buy the insurance in order for it to be serviced. Otherwise you have to send your phone to the manufacturer and that sort of thing. Verizon they ship you out a phone within two days.?
Hakim said his store is also the first ‘Premium Dealer? in Clarkston, which is the highest level a dealership can achieve with Verizon. As a premium dealer they get the latest products on time.
‘Like for example the iPhone if you go into some Verizon stores, they don’t have the I-phone,? he said. ‘We get the good stuff right away.?
Hakim said the ‘hot phone? right now is the HTC Thunderbolt, which is Verizon’s first 4G phone and has an internet that is like cable speed fast. However, he said they have several phones out there both ‘simple phones? and ‘smart phones? that are free with new contracts.
‘The one thing about us is we’ll put you on the right plan. We don’t have a quota to fulfill, so when you walk in you’re going to get honest service,? he said. ‘If you just want to get simple basic phone, fine, we’re not going to push you any other way.?
In addition to selling phones, Hakim said they have a full line of accessories including the ‘Mifi hotspots,? which allows customers to have wireless internet connection anywhere they go, as well as tablets similar to the iPad.
‘The Motorola Zoom and the Samsung Galaxy tablets, those you can put a plan on them and have internet wherever you go and at the same time it can give off internet. So if you have your tablet and you also have your laptop you want to do some work on, it will give internet to your laptop,? Hakim said. ‘It’s a pretty competitive rate right now.?
They also do several business accounts and can do up to 500 lines, which Hakim says ‘nine times out of 10 they can save businesses money from their previous carrier.?
‘If they work for GM we offer business discounts or corporate discounts or if you’re just a regular Joe that wants to buy five phones or two phones we can give you discount on pretty much anything, as long as you’re doing business here, we’ll take care of you? Hakim said. ‘Even if people didn’t get their phone from here and they want sound advice feel free to stop in or e-mail us.?
AGrand Opening at the store is June 11, 12-4 p.m., which will include food, fun, games, and a raffle. The store is open between 10-6.

Ron and Janna McCann, owners of Miracle Ear in Waterford, hosted a grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for their second store in Independence Township April, 29.
Ron and Janna were joined by members of the Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce, Clarkston Rotary Club, several friends, family members and customers as well as three guests from Miracle Ear headquarters in Plymouth, Minnesota: Bonnie Scheil, Janine Vesper, and Theresa Goodwin.
‘We felt it very important for us to come and participate in this grand opening because it is a new image and design, these are new franchise owners,? said Scheil, senior store manager and has worked 33 years for the company. ‘These folks are grasping and adapting to all of the right things that should happen with a franchise. Part of that is the store design, the image and the look. We came to support them on this big day.?
‘I am spending time in this office and visiting the existing office that’s in Waterford, just doing a business review, goal settings and business strategy planning with Ron and Janna,? said Vesper, a franchise business developer.
Ron and Janna’s first store is located in Sears in Waterford, but this store is freestanding. Not only is it a new store, but it also has a new look.
‘This was a new design for Miracle Ear that was introduced to our franchise system in June of 2007,? said Goodwin. ‘This location is the first location that has implemented it.?
Ron said the day went ‘phenomenally well.?
‘I’m just really proud that people from the Rotary and Chamber made it out. We have family members here along with friends and customers, which is great to get support from too. We’ve really had a warm welcome from the Clarkston Community in general,? he said.
‘We are just really happy to be here and we think we are going to do great. We believe this to be a great location, with a lot of community support, and a great area to do business.?
Both Janna and Ron thank everyone for attending.
‘We hope to be able to help people with their hearing health for many years at this location and would like to extend an invitation to anyone that would like to stop by and see our store,? said Ron.
