Independence Township Parks and Recreation hosts Camp Caterpillar for preschoolers, Aug. 15-19 at Bay Court Park.
The Caterpillar Olympics session begins with an opening ceremony, in which campers will be introduced to one another and the camp.
Campers will learn a new Olympic-type sport every day, as well as enjoy arts and crafts, snacks, sing-a-longs, and stories.
On Wednesday, Aug. 17, campers will go to Deer Lake Beach for aquatic sports and fun in the sun. The session will conclude on Friday, Aug. 19, with a closing ceremony in which campers will all receive medals.
Camp Caterpillar includes many sports in a non-competitive setting.
‘We focus on learning and making new friends,? says Recreation Coordinator Lisa Christensen.
Camp Caterpillar is at Bay Court Park from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. Pre-registration is required for all campers at Parks and Recreation, 6483 Waldon Center Drive.
