Full leather interior, bright orange paint job, seats 10 and yeah, it’s got a ‘Hemi.?
With Cameron’s Limousine, Goodrich resident Mike Glynn is not looking to give customers the same old ride.
‘I have the coolest limo in Michigan,? gushes Glynn. ‘This is not your traditional limo company.?
It’s a sentiment the 2006 Daytona Charger Stretch that is the cornerstone of Glynn’s business makes readily obvious.
‘Everybody has the black and white Lincoln limos,? says Glynn, ‘nobody has a Daytona Charger.?
Having, as he describes it, ‘something different? to offer his customers is how Glynn hoped to find his niche with Cameron’s Limousine; a theory which has, thus far, proven effective. Glynn says since opening in June, business has been great, with a majority of his clients finding him from word of mouth recommendations.
Glynn says the decision to branch out on his own with Cameron’s Limousine came shortly after the death of his baby daughter, Cameron. She died a week after being born with polycystic kidney disease in May. The tragedy prompted the former human resources manager and his wife, Kathy, to tackle the challenge of starting their own business. Though the concept had once seemed formidable, it paled in comparison to what they had overcome following the death of their child, says Glynn.
‘I’m a pretty firm believer in that old saying, ‘if you love what you do, you’ll never work a day again in your life,? Glynn says. And judging from the enthusiasm bubbling from Glynn as he talks about the new business, it’s evident this is not a man who considers this to be ‘work.?
‘It’s challenging’it’s not easy, but it’s fun,? said Glynn.
One of the aspects that sets Cameron’s Limousine apart from the competition is flexibility, explains Glynn, adding he tries to work with customers without the strict requirements of having the limousine rented for no less than 4 or 5 hours, as other companies might.
‘The service is second to none,? said Glynn. ‘We remember to do the little things and do them right.?
Glynn says Cameron’s Limousine goes the extra mile for weddings, from having champagne, iced and ready to go, to coordinating with couples? color schemes.
‘We really roll out the red carpet for weddings,? said Glynn. Other special events Glynn says people commonly rent limos for are events like homecomings, bachelor or bachelorette parties, anniversaries, and even bringing a new baby home from the hospital in style.
So how do you top a Hemi-powered Daytona Charger in the limousine business?
For Glynn, the 2007 Roush Racing Ford Mustang he expects in by December should do just fine.
