The Lake Orion girls? varsity basketball team has been recognized by the Basketball Coaches Association of Michigan as an Academic All-State team.?
They were ranked #8 in the state with a 3.68 overall grade point average.
‘Three seniors have been members of the All-Academic team twice during their high school careers,? Coach Steve Roberts noted.?’Cara Booker, Trisha Dalrymple, and Cortney Kimmel were members of the team their sophomore year.’Kimmel and fellow senior Christine Norton are both 4.0 students.??
Junior Bethany Watterworth was recognized as individual Academic All-State by the BCAM as well.’She has a commutative grade point of 3.68, and averaged 15 points and 11 rebounds per game last season.?
‘This is the first time that a girls? basketball player from Lake Orion has achieved this award,? Roberts said. ‘It is a great honor to be selected to any all-state team but a greater honor to be selected to the academic all-state team.’She epitomizes what a student athlete represents.?
