Buying a bar code reader

All government entities and school districts are now required to keep track of all their fixed assets and to report them in each audit report.
To help make this requirement easier, the Village of Lake Orion, is purchasing a bar code reader. When it’s time to take inventory, the bar code reader will be used to quickly and accurately take that inventory.
Each of the village’s assets will be tagged with a bar coded label.
The bar code reader will cost the village $910. According to LO Village Manager JoAnn Van Tassel, there’s money in the Capital Improvement Fund budget to cover the cost.
