Business owner was committed to her community

Carol Marie Evans of Clarkston will be remembered for her care for the community.
“She was a very generous lady, and she was always giving to the community even in her personal life,” said her grandson Damien Evans. “She was generous and strong willed.?
Carol passed away unexpectedly Nov. 16, 2015, at age 66. She was the owner of Smith’s Disposal, a generous supporter and contributor to numerous northern Oakland County community activities including SCAMP, North Oakland Headwaters Land Conservancy, Michigan
Humane Society, and Team RUSH, worked tirelessly to ensure full service to all of her customers and pickup in a timely manner, and was deeply loved and will be missed by countless friends and customers.?
“Her death was so sudden and unexpected,? said Damien, 26, who worked alongside Carol at Smith’s Disposal since 2006 and will take over the company.
Carol’s father, Leonard Smith, purchased the Powell’s Disposal company in 1981, renaming it Smith’s Disposal. He left it to his children Ken Smith and Carol Evans in 1997, and Carol became full owner about 10 years later.
Carol was the loving mother of Wendy (Brad) Neideck; proud Nana of Damien (Bailey) Evans, Maya, Zander, and Sierra Neideck; also survived by long term employee and friend Archie Munson and canine companion Mimi; preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Doris Smith.?
Funeral Service’was Nov. 22’at the Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston.’Interment Lakeview Cemetery.’Memorials may be made to the Michigan Humane Society.?
