Bring your old computers, give blood and donate school supplies Thursday

Orion Township business Premier Self Storage has teamed up with Great Lakes Electronics, Shred Corp., The Salvation Army, and The American Red Cross to host its 3rd Annual Green Meet, an annual recycling drive to collect electronic waste (eWaste), paper documents and provide a donation venue for unwanted furniture or other items and a Blood Drive all free. The event is Thursday (May 19) between noon and 6 pm, at 100 Premier Drive. The free recycling, blood drive and BBQ is a way to ask those dumping recyclables or donating used items to bring any useable office or school supplies for donation to the Jefferson Whittier Elementary School in Pontiac. The company or organization that donates the most supplies will win a free Bocci Ball and dinner party at Palazzo di Bocce.
‘We at Premier Self Storage want the community to come together, not only to help make a difference in the environment, but to help those less fortunate than ourselves,? said Mary Sayegh, manager of Premier Self Storage.
Free lunch and refreshments will be served for all those that attend Green Meet. Lunch will be catered by Hoops Bar & Grill of Auburn Hills. The Salvation Army will be on site to collect goods for the needy and will hand out tax receipts upon donation. The American Red Cross will be on site for a Blood Drive open to all that are ready and willing to help save a life. Premier Self Storage staff will be on site collecting school supplies.
Electronics to be accepted at Green Meet recycling event include computers, palm pilots, telephone equipment, VCR’s, and other small electronics (under 100 lbs.). Refrigerators, televisions, and air conditioning units will not be accepted.
