New deputy
Brandon Twp.- There’s a new deputy in town.
Gary Godschalk began work as the desk officer/deputy I at the Brandon substation this week.
Godschalk previously held the same position at the Commerce substation and has been employed by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office for 36 years. The 54-year-old Groveland Township resident’s duties include taking walk-in complaints, giving accident reports, and receiving calls at the substation from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Found property
Missing CDs? How about sunglasses? Maybe a camera or car stereo?
If you were the victim of larceny from an auto, you may be able to find your stolen items at the Brandon substation.
These items and more recently turned up on the doorstep of a home in the village. A few of the items had been stolen from a person living at the residence, but many more appear to be thefts from other unknown individuals. The found property includes several dozen CDs, some loose, some in cases, and one appearing to be the wedding music of ‘Jill and Rob.? Other items are an MP3 player, a cell phone, watch, and various sets of keys.
Police have returned more than $1,500 of property, but are still seeking owners. If you suspect some of the property may be yours, contact the substation at 248-627-4911.

Poppy day
Post 582 Veteran of Foreign Wars and the ladies auxiliary will have their annual buddy poppy day distribution on May 8, 9 and 10. All monies will go to their relief fund to assist needy veterans. Details: 248-627-4302.
