VFW Seeking veterans living in Oakland County
Veterans living in north Oakland County who have served overseas in any war or conflict are welcome to join the North Oakland VFW Post 334. The Post meets the second Thursday of each month. The next meeting will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2005 in the lower level of the meeting room of the Knight’s of Columbus Hall (1400 Orion Rd., Lake Orion).
The present 90 members of Post 334 served either in World War II, Korea or in Vietnam. According to Post Commander Gary Clouse, there are many Veteran’s Administration programs available that benefit veterans, such as low cost prescriptions, and the best way to stay abreast of these benefits is by participating in an organization like the VFW. Also, any veterans who are new residents of north Oakland County will find joining the North Oakland Post a good way to make new friends. VFW Post 334 was started in 1984 and in that year the State of Michigan ranked number one in the country in VFW membership.
For more information, call Gary clouse at (248) 693-4825, Quartermaster Ron Deachin at (248) 693-4267 or Ernie Baker at (248) 391-6933.
