Brandon’s varsity boys swimming team ran into a buzzsaw Jan. 10.
The visiting Holly Bronchos soundly defeated the Blackhawks 124-62 in a Flint Metro League showdown, taking first place in 10 of 12 events in the process.
Brandon’s lone wins came in 1-meter diving, which Zach Cotton won with a total score of 161.2, and the 100 yard backstroke, which Tyson Delandsheer won in a time of 1:12.57.
The Bronchos also took second place in the vast majority of events, with notable exceptions in the 200 yard medley relay and the 400 yard freestyle relay.
Brandon’s 200 yard medley relay team of Tyler Walls, Delandsheer, Brad MacIntyre and Josh Collier (1:58.95), along with their 400 yard freestyle relay team of Tyler Cole, Collier, Clayton Carpenter and Mac Intyre (3:58.19), earned the Blackhawks? two runner-up finishes.
