Next stop for the Brandon varsity boys golf team ? regional action.
The Blackhawks had a very successful week of action. After capturing their first-ever district championship Sept. 30, Brandon followed that up by winning the Flint Metro League postseason meet Monday, Oct. 3.

Brandon coach John Ubbing said he was pleased the Blackhawks were able to capture the league crown.
‘We set a goal of winning the league championship before the season,? he said.
Brandon’s Ryan Bilkos won medalist honors for the meet, shooting 76. He actually finished in a first-place tie with Clio’s Shawn Worthing, but Bilkos won a playoff to break the tie.
Josh Williams was right behind Bilkos, shooting 77, while Brian Jordan finished at 83.
In district action at the Lapeer Country Club three days earlier, Brandon outdistanced second-place Lapeer West (336) and third-place Linden (339) to win the championship.
Williams won overall medalist honors for the district meet, shooting a round of 77. Jordan (80) and Bilkos (83) were the other top golfers for the Blackhawks.
The Blackhawks were slated to take part in Division 2 regional action Friday, Sept. 7 at Metamora Country Club. Brandon is one of 12 teams participating in the tournament, with the top three teams advancing to the state meet.
Ubbing said he likes the Blackhawks? chances of making it that far.
‘There’s some strong teams in regionals, no question about it, but our kids have fought tooth and nail all year,? he said. ‘I couldn’t be more proud of these kids.?
