It was not a good start for the Brandon boys golf team in Flint Metro League action.
The Blackhawks finished seventh out of seven teams in the league’s preseason golf tournament Monday, Aug. 18 at Sugarbush Golf Club in Davison. Brandon finished with a score of 397.
Lapeer West and Fenton both led the pack with a score of 333. However, West won the tournament on a fifth-man tiebreaker. Linden finished third at 339.
Drew Barr led the Blackhawks with a round of 91. Jeff Carroll followed with a round of 98, while Will Hubbard shot a 102 and Brad MacIntyre a 106. Other Brandon golfers were Brian Jordan (108) and Josh Barr (114).
In a tune-up tournament Aug. 15 at Lapeer Country Club, Drew Barr led Brandon with a 85. Carroll followed with an 86, while Josh Barr shot 91, Brad MacIntyre 93, and Matt Miller 112.
