Brandon girls track impresses in first meet of year against Kettering

It was a good beginning for Coach Greg Hyde and the Brandon girls track team.
The Blackhawks traveled to Waterford Kettering April 6 and came away with an 84-44 win, taking first place in 11 events to pick up the win.
‘We had a lot of great efforts,? Hyde said. ‘The girls ran faster than I thought they could this early in the season. We’re right on track for where we want to be.?
Brandon took first in the following events:

?400 dash ? Jamila Richardson (1:10.93)
?300 hurdles ? Danie Ashford (53.89)
?800 run ? Doan (2:40.69)
?3200 run ? Craciun (13.29)
?1600 relay ? Stedman, Doan, Mariah Andre, and Richardson (4:55.8)
The Blackhawks return to action at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 17 at the New Lothrop Invitational.
