Brandon’s varsity girls track team won their second league meet in as many tries on April 11, defeating Lapeer East 81-56
Lapeer East is now 0-2 in Flint Metro League action.
Three Brandon competitors each took two first-place finishes. Sarah Bond won the shot put (34?2?) and the discus (129?7?), while Janessa Farr won the 100 hurdles (19.6) and the 300 hurdles (34.4).
In addition, Danielle Westphall was part of two first-place relay teams. Westphall, Jamilla Richardson, Corie Auger and Sarah Privette won the 800 meter relay in 59.0, while Westphall, Kayla Vaughn, Alyssa Tierney and Danyl O’Brien won the 400 meter relay in 55.5.
Brandon won two other field events in the meet, as Savannah Stedman won the high jump (5?2?) and Sherri Lawrence captured the pole vault (8?). Kelsey Carmean notched the Blackhawks? other event victory, winning the 3200 meter run in 12:25.2.
