Six Brandon-area churches are, to paraphrase a Beatles song, ‘coming together? to celebrate their Christian faith during the upcoming Lenten season.
Beginning the week after Ash Wednesday (Wednesday, Mar. 1), the churches are taking turns sponsoring five community Lenten services each Thursday and then a community Good Friday service Apr. 14.
Pastor Dave Gerber of Lake Louise Church of the Nazarene, 2300 S. Ortonville Road, Ortonville (one of the participating churches), said the community worship services are an important opportunity for fellowship among the area’s Christian churches.
‘During the community Lenten services, the churches celebrate everything they have in common,? he said. ‘It’s a time of reflection and preparation, and a time to find our we’re not that different.?
