From air bags to ABS (anti-lock braking system) to the high tech electronic systems in today’s cars’whether foreign or domestic, gas or diesel’Riley has built a career spanning more than three decades of auto mechanics.
‘I’m going to explain just what’s wrong with your vehicle and how it’s going to be repaired,? said Riley, owner of Brandon Blackhawks Auto Repair, 99 Wolfe Lane, Ortonville, which opened March 1. ‘We have the tools and knowledge required to repair your car’efficiently and at a reasonable price.?
Riley, a master mechanic, was employed more than 29 years with Birmingham, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep where he reached a level four Chrysler Tech status.
‘Vehicles today are ever-changing,? he said. ‘Consider when a customer’s check engine light is on there can be more than 60 possibilities as to what is wrong with your car. Education and knowledge is key.?
In addition to his skills as mechanic, Riley is a strong supporter of the community.
‘I named my business for the community and school district I help support,? said Riley, the father of two Brandon High School students’Lianna, a freshman, and Jon, a senior. ‘I designed my company logo around the school. From teachers to administrators to students, I hope to be a part of the education of our youth.?
Over his career Riley has helped educate youth by providing training in auto mechanics.
‘I’ve offered classes to youth on some basic functions of cars’from changing a tire, to checking fluid levels, to simple oil changes’the practicality of these tasks are paramount.?
