Going into week four of the bowling season, Oxford varsity boy bowlers were behind Walled Lake Central by one game and knew it was going to be a tough match on Sunday.
Although Oxford lost their first game against Central, they rebounded with a 194-173 victory in the second game.
The third match sealed the deal, with junior Tyler Heichel and senior Brendan Wheeler with a school record of 245 and 233, respectively. Final score was Oxford 19, Central 11.
The boys record is 4-0.
Oxford varsity girl bowlers still had to struggle again, when Central won eight out of the 10 matches.
Ashlee High was a bright spot, though, running her record to seven wins in eight matches with games of 203 and 153.
They are now 0-4 in the Northern Lakes Division.
Coach J.R. Lafnear would like to thank Coach Bud Rowley and Helen Smith for attending the match.
Next match is on Sunday, January 14, at 1:30 p.m. at Wonderland Lanes in Walled Lake.
