Board OKs new Reid Elementary principal

Goodrich- On June 9, the school board of trustees voted 7-0 to promote Reid Elementary Kindergarten Teacher Beth Millerschin to school principal. Millerschin replaces Principal Christy Flowers who will work in the Davison School District this fall..

A Goodrich native and GHS graduate, Millerschin completed her bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in elementary education. She earned a master’s degree in education leadership from Central Michigan University.
After college Millerschin worked for the Lapeer Community Schools Community Education Department in a variety of positions, including adult and alternative education, preschool and latch-key childcare programs. She also coordinated enrichment activities and senior citizen activities. In 2014, Millerschin completed her 23rd year teaching at Goodrich’four years as a first grade teacher and 19 years kindergarten. She is also a trained Reading Recovery teacher, taught half-day reading and half-day kindergarten for five years during that time span at Goodrich.
Millerschin is married and the mother of GHS graduates who are 21 and 18, as well as an 11-year-old who attends GMS.
