BHS girls harriers capture Flint Metro crown

Brandon’s girls cross country achieved another milestone in what has turned out to be a top-notch season.
The Blackhawks earned the Flint Metro League cross country championship after winning the league meet Oct. 19 at Springfield Oaks Activities Center.
Brandon finished with 41 points, outdistancing second-place Fenton (54) and third-place Holly (86). The win capped off an undefeated league season for the Blackhawks.
Kelsey Carmean led the Blackhawk contingent by finishing third among all competitors in 19:48. Kelly Wilson placed fifth (20:20), while Kayla Doan finished 10th (20:52).
Rounding out the Brandon scoring were Jamie Hendershott (11th, 20:59), Hannah Scherer (12th, 21:08) and Sara Eldon (14th, 21:27).
