BHS girls cagers shut down by Waterford Mott

Brandon’s girls basketball team could never get untracked in its Sept. 23 game against visiting Waterford Mott.
Mott jumped out to a 14-7 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back. The Blackhawks are now 1-8 overall and 1-2 in Flint Metro League play.
Jessica Liebner and Savannah Stedman led the Blackhawks with seven points apiece.
The Blackhawks also dropped a tough 38-36 game to the visiting Linden Eagles Sept. 19.
The fourth quarter turned out to be the pivotal one in the game, as the Blackhawks held a 27-24 lead going into the final frame. However, the Eagles outscored the Blackhawks 14-9 in that period to seal the win.
Lauhnna Waybrant led Brandon with 10 points, while Meg Donnay added seven.
Brandon returns to action Sept. 30 when they host Oxford at 7 p.m.
