Bears nabbed for sheriff’s line-up

Goodrich — National Honor Society students at Goodrich High School have been hunting bear.
The students have been rounding up cuddly stuffed animals for the Genesee County Sheriff’s Department to give children in difficult situations.
“I thought it would be a wonderful idea to do the Teddy Bear Drive and help out kids whose parents are in car accidents or domestic disputes,” said NHS member Beth Taylor, 15.
NHS Sponsor Bill Duso is hoping when the creatures are all tallied, the group will have nearly 50 clean or new bears which can be stocked in police cruisers.
Along with co-sponsor John Doerr, Duso will be welcoming 71 new members during the Dec. 1 induction ceremony, bringing the service-minded Goodrich National Honor Society membership to 116.
