Clarkston’s girls basketball team had a successful week last week, downing two OAA opponents.
The Wolves defeated Rochester Adams, 58-20, on Tuesday, Oct. 7, then followed that with a 47-35 win over Troy Athens on Thursday, Oct. 9.
Against Adams, Clarkston jumped out to a 22-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
Stephanie Parkin led the Wolves’ attack with 19 points, seven rebounds and four steals. Melissa Martinez scored eight points, while Leigh Christy and Sarah Mahrle contributed six each. Christy was also active on the boards, gaining 10 rebounds on the game.
The Athens game was an 18-17 game at the half, but the Wolves came back strong in the second for the decisive victory.
Jill Kouri led the scoring with 10 (and four steals), followed by Parkin with nine and Christy with seven. Clarkston was active under the boards, with Christy grabbing nine rebounds, followed by Parkin and Amanda Kaltz with eight each.
Going into this week’s scheduled action, Clarkston compiled a 2-2 record in the league, 6-4 overall. The Wolves were scheduled to travel to Lake Orion Tuesday and host Troy on Thursday.
