The Banbury Cross Therapeutic Equestrian Center in Oxford recently became a Premier Accredited Center by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA).
The accreditation means Banbury has demonstrated their commitment to the highest standards when it comes to their riders.
‘It just means that we have proven to NARHA that our facility is safer and that we have applied with all of their regulations and conditions,? said Ruth Donley, administrative assistant at Banbury Cross.
Located on Brauer Rd., Banbury has been a fixture in the Oxford community for 17 years and usually services about 40 students with special needs each year.
To become the Premier Accredited Center, Banbury had to pass an on-site evaluation by the NARHA, which includes their horse management, safety equipment, the quality of their instruction, facility operations, volunteerism and administrative practices.
Banbury Cross is always looking for volunteers to help with their riders. Call them at (248) 628-RIDE, or e-mail them at banburycross@intouchmi.com.
