Youth Assistance needs bottles

The Orion Area Youth Assistance is conducting a bottle and can drive on June 4 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in various neighborhoods of the township. Because OYA is holding a fundraiser on behalf of a non-profit organization, Orion Township waived the requirements of some sections of the Peddlers and Solicitors Regulation ordinance.

Stiller resigns

Wendy Stiller, office coordinator for the Orion Township Public Works Department, has resigned. The township board accepted her letter of resignation, effective June 3, at the April 18 board meeting. The board also approved advertising the 40-hour per week position, with a starting wage of $13.04 ($27,128 annually), plus benefits.
