Unless the Polly Ann Trailway Management Council (PATMC) agrees to let Addison Township use in-kind services to help pay for their 2007 dues, the council will remain one member short.
On Dec. 18, township officials voted 6-1 to pay their annual dues (based on the proposed 50/50 formula of community population and trail milage) totalling $9,619 minus $4,000 worth of in-kind services.
‘I would like the council to know that this is non-negotiable,? said Trustee Ed Brakefield. ‘If they don’t accept it, Addison Township will remain out of the Polly Ann Trail.?
Trustee John Sutphin cast the only dissenting vote.
Brakefield suggested the in-kind services come from a proposed $4,000 per year rental of office space for the PATMC at the Addison Township complex on Rochester Rd. The trail manager’s office is currently located at Rowland Hall in the Village of Leonard.
If the council were to accept these terms, Addison would contribute $5,619 in actual cash annually in order to be a part of the trail council.
The PATMC voted 6-1 Nov. 21 to allow Addison back into the council as long as they pay their back dues of $8,305.27.
Addision officials also voted 5-2 to pay their back dues to the PATMC for the 2005-06 fiscal year using $4,787.50 from their general fund and $3,838.57 in funds donated to the trail council and earmarked for equestrian purposes. Trustees Claudia VonDrak and Christine Sypitkowski cast dissenting votes.
Sypitkowski was concerned that a letter from PAT Manager Amy Murray dated Nov. 30 didn’t include the $2,000 worth of in-kind services that Leonard Village President Geno Mallia, Jr. mentioned at Addison’s special meeting on Oct. 24.
But Brakefield assured her to not ‘worry about the credit? because the equestrian donation would cover the balance of what the township owed plus some.
The PATMC will discuss Addison’s proposal at their first meeting in January.
