One of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department’s Most Wanted criminals was finally arrested Jan. 23 in Oakland Township by deputies from Addison.
Valerie Suzanne Sneary, 21, was arraigned last week in Oakland County Circuit Court in Pontiac.
She’s charged with probation violations relating to previous felony convictions for larceny in a building, uttering and publishing (forging checks),and stealing/retaining a financial transaction device. Sneary also had an arrest warrant out for her on a larceny charge from the Troy Police Department. She’s previously been convicted of assault and retail fraud.
According to the sheriff’s report, deputies at the substation in Addison were notified Sneary was staying at a home on West Predmore in Oakland Township. A neighbor said she was married to one of the family’s sons.
As the three deputies approached the home, they said they could ‘see people in the home moving around inside.?
The report said Sneary tried to exit the home from a side door, but stayed in the home when she saw another deputy was waiting for her outside. Two other individuals inside the home wouldn’t answer the door until a deputy threatened to ‘kick the door in.?
A male in the home then let the deputies in and Sneary was taken into custody.
Circuit Court Judges Rae Lee Chabot and John McDonald set Sneary’s bond at 10 percent of $1,250. Sneary paid her $125 and was released Jan. 24. A preliminary exam hasn’t been set yet.
