Ace Hardware coming this summer to Oakwood Plaza

Groveland Township will soon have an Ace.
Local owners Robert and Shawn Frisch are anticipating the opening of Ace Hardware, 440 N. Ortonville Road by the first of June in the old True Value Hardware location, which closed in August 2009. The store is currently undergoing some renovations, including a fresh coat of paint and cleaning.
After more than 80 years in business, Ace Hardware has grown from a small group of hardware stores to a network of more than 4,800 locations across the globe.
The 10,000 square foot store located next door to Bueche’s Food World will employ about 10 and carry a host of brand names, including Stihl Lawn Equipment, Benjamin Moore Paint, and Weber Grills.
Later in the year the store will offer Craftsman Tools, along with some building materials such as drywall, plywood and two-by-fours.
In addition, a selection of hunting and fishing supplies along with threading pipe, glass cutting and screen work will be available.
‘The store is in a great location, easy access to M-15 or Oakwood roads,? said Tim Tayler, store manager with more than 15 years of hardware experience.
‘Ace is the most complete hardware chain of stores with a state-of-the-art distribution system, dedicated corporate support. It’s a great company.?
‘There’s no need to travel out of town to one of those big box stores when we’ll have it right here in town.?
