Tom Lowrie celebrated 30 years in business in grand style, with drinks and hors d’oeurves on his backyard tent and patio and a visit by the Michigan Renaissance Festival queen.
‘Sir Tom and I have known each other for many years,? said Queen Elizabeth Glorianna, as portrayed by Caroline Jett. ‘He is always delightful and we always have a wonderfully fun time together.?
He’s ready for 30 more years with Lowrie’s Landscaping, Lowrie said.
‘This is my passion,? he said. ‘It can be so much fun. It’s like taking a ball of clay and molding it into something really nice. You take a raw mound of dirt and make it come to life, with sights and sounds. It’s one of the most rewarding occupations you can do.?
He is also active in the community, working with the Clarkston Area Chamber of Commerce and local service organizations, as well as the Renaissance Festival, landscaping in front of the castle for the past several years.
‘He makes the shire absolutely gorgeous, everyone recognizes its beauty and grandeur,? the queen said. ‘We are very grateful.?
