It’s been almost three years since Dr. Galina Tikh moved her medical practice to Oxford and she said she’s here to stay.
‘This is a lovely community and I love it here,? said Dr. Tikh. ‘I want to stay in Oxford,? she added with a sparkling smile.
Dr. Tikh, formerly of Rochester Medical Center, moved her practice to 119 S. Washington St., Suite 1, after serving patients in Rochester from 1995-2002. Since that time the Advanced Integrated Medical Health Center, P.C. has gained more than 1,000 patients, supporting the physician’s conviction to stay in the area.
A diplomate of the American Board of Internal medicine, Dr. Tikh is on staff at Crittenton and Beaumont hospitals and also has an office in Southfield.
While A.I.M. Health Center, P.C. is located near the hospitals, Dr. Tikh added further convenience to many of her home-bound patients. Recently Dr. Tikh and her medical assistant Julie Kelley began making house calls to assisted living residents at Waterstone in Oxford. She will continue visiting nearly 10 patients at Waterstone, on a monthly basis.
‘She does the same basic check-ups in their homes as she does here,? said office receptionist Cheryl Tinetti. ‘That is a good thing for them because those people have a hard time getting out and driving here.?
In addition to her extensive services, two cardiac care specialists have joined Dr. Tikh at A.I.M. Health Center, P.C.
Both physicians, Dr. Joe H. Yun, M.D. and Rajendra Prasad, M.D. are colleagues of Dr. Tikh’s at Crittenton Hospital.
Dr. Prasad, who currently practices cardiology and vascular care in Rochester Hills, is president of the Cardiology & Vascular Associates, P.C. in Rochester Hills.
Both doctors practice cardiology and vascular medicine at Cardiology & Vascular Associates, P.C. in Rochester Hills.
Dr. Prasad will attend patients at A.I.M. Health Center, P.C. on Mondays from 10-11:45 a.m.
Dr. Yun will attend patients at A.I.M. Health Center, P.C. on Wednesdays from 10-11:45 a.m.
A.I.M. Health Center accepts patients from age 13 to adults, offering a wide range of internal medical services including preventative physical examinations, as well as school sports and employment physicals.
Testing services include on-site cholesterol and glucose testing, lung, heart and blood vessel testing, EKG and Holter monitors as well as laboratory services. X-rays and immunizations are also available.
‘We also offer a lot of women’s care,? said Dr. Tikh.
All patients are greeted into the homey atmosphere at the center with a warm welcome from longtime office staff Julie Kelley, medical assistant, Cheryl Tinetti, receptionist.
Both women agree many patients are pleased with the convenient efficiency of service being performed right at the A.I.M. Health Center and still receive personal attention from the physicians on staff.
‘We do everything right here and that’s more convenient for our patients,? Kelley said.
A native of Russia, Dr. Tikh received her degree in internal medicine while living in Moscow. Moving her family to the United States in 1990, Dr. Tikh said she wanted to come here to provide a better future for her family. She has earned the diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and has continued to qualify for the distinction since 1990.
Dr. Tikh said new patients are welcome to visit A.I.M. Health Center, P.C., often with same day available appointments.
